What can you buy for £4.73?

The answer is not an awful lot nowadays! Gone are the days when my £1 pocket money would last a week, I am a child of the 80's and I remember when I could go to the corner shop to buy penny sweets and the ice cream man sold a '10p special' which was a ice cream cone with a strawberry ice lolly stuck in the top, now you would be lucky to get an empty cone for 10p.

I read an article the other day comparing prices in 1960 to today, it made interesting reading, in 1960 £4.73 would buy you;
104 loaves of white bread, 157 pints of milk, 94 litres of petrol, 78 portions of fish and chips or 2 barbie dolls
whereas now now you would only get 5 loaves of bread, 10 pints of milk, 3 litres of petrol, 1 portion of fish and chips or just half of the cheapest barbie doll.

I doesn't seem like you can a lot for a fiver now but you might be surprised to learn that £4.73 is the price of 1 Pop n Grow baby grow, £4,73 can help to keep a special care baby warm, £4.73 might not seem a lot but to those babies and their parents it is priceless.

So thank you to all of our supporters, we appreciate every single penny that is donated and all of your help in spreading the word about Pop N Grow :o)
